Three faces, each with one job
Marr Sans Condensed speaks up. Trust 3A slows down and says something true. Inter does the reading. Keep them in those roles and the system carries the personality by itself: passionate in the headlines, steady in the body, resourceful in how little it needs.
The faces
Three familiesMarr Sans Condensed
Headlines, section titles, big numbers, and caps labels. Condensed and confident, it lets a long name or a bold claim sit on one line. Semibold is the working weight; Bold is for the very largest sizes and one-word statements.
- Weights
- Semibold, Bold
- Case
- Sentence case for headlines. Caps with 6% tracking for labels and the "San Antonio" line.
- Never
- Body copy, anything under 16px, long paragraphs.
- License
- Commercial Type. SAAF to license for desktop and web.
Trust 3A
The editorial voice. Pull quotes, the brand story, a mission line on a cover, the one paragraph on a page that should feel spoken. It brings warmth and gravity, so it appears once per piece, not everywhere.
- Weights
- Regular, Bold, Italic
- Size
- 28px and up. Below that its details close up.
- Never
- Navigation, buttons, tables, forms, captions.
- License
- SAAF to license for desktop and web.
Inter
Everything that gets read: body copy, captions, tables, forms, buttons, navigation, and small uppercase labels in the interface. Open, neutral, and free, so every staff member can have it.
- Weights
- Regular, Medium, Bold, plus italics
- Size
- 14 to 24px for text. 12px Medium caps for labels.
- License
- Open source (SIL OFL). Free on Google Fonts and for desktop.
The scale
Proposed · webNine sizes cover everything on screen. Print scales down by roughly a third; a 64px web headline is a 44pt print headline.

Pairing rules
Proposed- Marr over Inter is the default pair. Headline in Marr Sans Condensed, everything under it in Inter. This covers the website, decks, one-pagers, and reports.
- Trust 3A is a moment. One editorial passage per piece, set large. It replaces the lede, not the headline and not the body.
- Sentence case for headlines. Caps are reserved for labels and the "San Antonio" line, where the tracking does the work.
- Tight leading up top, generous below. Headlines sit near 1.0; body sits at 1.5. That contrast is part of the look.
- Left-aligned, ragged right. Center only a single line, a cover, or an invitation.
- Color follows the color rules. Navy for reading, magenta for one headline or label per surface, cream on dark. Never a color under 18px unless it's navy or cream.
The Area Foundation unites and amplifies generosity across the San Antonio area.
We connect donors to critical organizations on the ground.
When the brand fonts aren't there
FallbacksStaff install Marr Sans Condensed and Trust 3A on their computers, and the website loads them. Where that isn't possible, in Google Docs, email, or a shared template on a machine without the fonts, use the stand-ins below. They hold the hierarchy, not the personality, which is fine for internal work.
| Brand face | Stand-in | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Marr Sans Condensed | Arial Narrow Bold | Google Docs, Gmail, Word without fonts installed |
| Trust 3A | Georgia | Same. Keep it to one editorial line, as with Trust. |
| Inter | Inter | Free everywhere: Google Docs has it built in; install it on desktop from Google Fonts. |
The PowerPoint and Canva templates ship with the brand fonts embedded, so presentations and social never need the stand-ins.
